Pottery, Beginning Handbuilding Don’t think Shelter at Home, think Artist in Residence! You can learn to hand build pottery right at home. You will have access to YouTube videos of pottery teacher Chris Bolton demonstrating various projects. You and your classmates will meet once a week via Zoom to ask questions, discuss projects, and interact with each other. The class will require some dropping off and picking up, but you wanted to get out of the house anyway, right? You’ll need to purchase and pick up clay and materials from the CGCC Bookstore, and you’ll be dropping off your new creations at the Bookstore to be glazed and fired. For those who are at a loss over what to make, demonstrations will include slip decorating items such as jugs, serving platters and masks. If you know what you want already, the instructor will be available to offer help in making it happen. This is a repeatable class. Returning students will meet one on one with the instructor (virtually) to discuss further personal development and to address solutions to individual problems as they arise. We can safely make art in these difficult times and this is how! No discounts or waivers.
